Among the major refinements of the Rolls-Royce Wraith were independent front suspension to a Packard 120 design, smaller wheels and a new cross-flow cylinder head. All this made the new model clearly superior to its immediate predecessor the R-R 25/30 hp. There could be no doubt that the small Rolls-Royce variant as regards technical layout was on a par with the standard set by the much advanced Rolls-Royce Phantom III. But no more than 491 of the new chassis were produced before the start of hostilities in 1939 brought manufacture to an end. Hence the R-R Wraith couldn't prove itself a valuable contributor to the Rolls-Royce balance sheet then. During the past decades it has become a cherished collector's car.

This Wraith was sold by The Clyde Automobile Co. Ltd in Glasgow on 15 December 1938 to the new owner for 8,840 pounds. According to the contract, the car was equipped with Dunlop 6.5x17 inch tires, Mascot on the radiator, a heater, wheel carrier and rear bumper brackets. The chassis was delivered by road to Hooper on 15 February 1939 for the bodywork. The bodywork ordered was the Limousine with trunk.

In the 1950s and 1960s, the Rolls served as a support car in a funeral procession at Gordon and Watson from Aberdeen.

In 1977 the Rolls was imported to the Netherlands. The previous owner kept the car for 45 years. The car comes with an original manual and an extra folding seat.
