The Dauphine (R1094), was a small, four door, four cylinder, water cooled rear engined four-seater saloon that put out 30 hp and later 32 hp, while it’s pleasant and original body was designed by Robert Barthaud together with Ghia. The car was light, practical and economical, but the road holding was much criticised.
Renault manufactured the Dauphine at its Flins factory. The Dauphine was also manufactured worldwide. In Italy Alfa Romeo built the Dauphine.
Renault had with the Dauphine the brilliant plan of stowing the spare wheel separately under the floor, hinging the front number plate to provide access to it.
This Dauphine from the first year of production (1956) was imported to the Netherlands in 2001. Car has Holland title. Easy to register in every EU country. You do not need to pay any import taxes. We can help with transport.
