Citroën SM, year 1972. Color burgundy combined with a brown leather interior and brown carpet. This beautiful Citroën SM was sold new in the United States of America (USA). The car was imported into the Netherlands in 1990.
In the past, the original injection system was replaced by three double Weber carburetors, which was also an original option. In 2003 the owner decided to improve the car. The engine is equipped with all important upgrades such as improved valves, better timing chain guides and an improved oil pump. The car was given new paint in 2004. The original cream-colored paint has been replaced by the beautiful burgundy color that now adorns the car. The American front was also replaced by the beautiful European-style glass front with swiveling spotlights! The car has undergone improvements and service for more than € 21,000 and has since driven 22,500 kilometers.
This Citroën SM is in very good condition and the car looks beautiful. The front seats, and the carpet in the front footwell, show signs of use and age. The car is equipped with the original Continental Edison radio, which is a very popular option. The hydropneumatic suspension works perfectly, the Maserati V6 engine runs beautifully, the 5-speed manual gearbox shifts perfectly and the hydraulic brakes function excellently. Because of “its” impressive appearance, the sublime hydropneumatic suspension and the powerful Maserati V6 engine, the Citroën SM was nicknamed “Sa Majestée” (His/Her Majesty) in France. Looking at this beautiful SM, driving this SM, and experiencing the positive reactions the car evokes, proves that this nickname is well chosen!
