Triumph Spitfire Mk I

The Triumph Spitfire was designed by the famous Italian designer Michelotti. Officially known as Spitfire 4, because of the 4 cylinders. This model Mk I was produced from October 1962 to December 1964. It was special that the model was supplied with disc brakes as standard, something new in formula racing at that time. The engine was from the Herald with 63 bhp and a characteristic feature was the bonnet that could be opened completely. A total of 45,573 units were built. The engine has a capacity of 1147 cc and is equipped with two S.U. carburetors that deliver a power of ± 63 HP. Under favorable conditions the MK1 has a top speed of ± 150 km per hour.

This beautiful example in the color 'Old English White' combined with a black leatherette interior and black carpet, was restored 'body-off' and the car has only driven 3800 kilometers since the restoration was completed. The cavities and seams of the body and hood are protected against corrosion with Waxoyl/ML type brown wax. This Spitfire is in very good to excellent condition, with minor signs of wear here and there. The Spitfire drives and steers very well. The four-speed gearbox shifts beautifully and is equipped with the highly sought-after overdrive option! This Spitfire 4 shows all original details including the original steering wheel and the original steel wheels with chrome hubcaps! The odometer shows km/h. instead of miles. The Triumph has a Dutch registration.
