Pininfarina built not only the bodies for the Fiat convertibles, but also a very elegant Coupe based on the convertible body. The handsome Pininfarina-designed body had a styling quite similar to that of Ferrari’s contemporary 250 GT Spyder and Peugeot 404 Coupes/Convertible. There were these coupes in the 1200 version, as well as with the OSCA engine. The coupes differed externally from the Cabriolet by a one-piece grille. The price of the Pininfarina coupe was over 25% above that of the same motorized Fiat convertibles. Initially Pininfarina sold the Coupe entirely on their own, but also through Fiat dealers or Fiat - sales organizations. In 1961 the coupes were then in the official Fiat sales program. in 1963 Fiat replaced the 1200 Cabriolet.

At the Geneva show the successor Fiat 1500 Cabriolet was introduced. The 1500 convertible was based on the new Fiat 1300 / 1500 sports sedan. Other Coupes built on this platform came from Vignale, Siata, and Ghia. The main differences to the Fiat 1200 convertible were more performance, another face and disc brakes. Also the Fiat with the Osca engine, the Fiat 1600s cabriolet, got next to the modifications to the drivetrain a new front. Double headlights distinguished him at first glance from the sister model. From Pininfarina there was still the corresponding 1500 and 1600 S coupes.

This Fiat 1500 Coupe, in a nice light blue colour with a red leather interior, is from the last production year. It was imported from Switzerland in 2003. This classic has only driven 3.300 km in the last 14 years. A charming Italian classic that is a joy to drive.
