In 2012, Mazda and Fiat entered into an agreement to jointly develop and produce a new Spider. Mazda had already achieved success with the MX5, and Fiat, owner of Alfa Romeo since 1986, wanted to launch a new Alfa Romeo Spider.

In 2014, Fiat decided to change course and no longer market an Alfa Spider in collaboration with Mazda. At that point, Fiat came into the picture as a brand, and they returned to Fiat's most iconic Spider, the 124.

The new Mazda MX5, a result of this collaboration, will be introduced in the summer of 2015. With this model, Mazda has returned to the core values of the first MX5: a lightweight, small spider that's incredibly fun to drive. The design is significantly different from previous versions, and that's why Fiat enthusiasts are eagerly awaiting the new 124 Spider.

Fiat has managed to design its own face on the technical basis of the Mazda, which harks back to the original model in detail.

The Abarth 124 Spider was introduced at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show. It has the same engine as the "regular" 124 Spider, but with an increased horsepower of 170. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.8 seconds and has a top speed of 232 km/h.

This Abarth 124 Spider is one of the first in the Netherlands. It comes from the first owner, who ordered it with an extra set of rims with winter tires and a cobra alarm. He replaced the special Abarth floor mats with those from the 124 Spider. The original set is included unused. The car has always been dealer-maintained and has only 56,000 km on the clock. At 46,000 km, the brake pads and winter tires were replaced. All booklets and both keys are included.
